Head of the Lakes Tournament News

Our own Head of the Lakes tournament came to a close this weekend with a lot of success for Gitch teams throughout all age groups.

Our U11 Boys teams both got to the final of their bracket and played each other for the crown once again (they met in Eagan's finals too), with Scott Anderson's boys winning this round in a closely contested game 3-2.

At the age group above, Joe Watt's U12 Boys lost their final to a strong FC Lobos team in the fourth game the two teams have played this season.

Seth Eklund's U14 Boys stormed their final 5-1 against Chequamegon Bay SC and continue their good season.

On to the girls, starting with Mike Sengbush's U11's (pictured) who won their final 3-0 against Esko.

Eirik Rennan's U12's also won their final against Rev, 2-1.

Also against Rev, Wells McGiffert's U14's won 5-2 in their final.

Lastly, Kelly Wheeler's U13 Girls took 2nd, narrowly losing in the final 1-0 to Chequamegon Bay SC.

Additionally, our 01 Boys premier team, coached by Barry Chastey, earned promotion this weekend to Premier 1, which is the top league in the state for the 2019 season. They lost only 1 game all year, which happened to be their first of the season. This is a great achievement for the team and for our club.

Thanks to all teams that traveled to our tournament this weekend and for all the families who volunteered to make the tournament possible.
